As the school
year is coming to an end, I want to keep you updated about what is
happening in A.C.E. class. Students have worked hard all over
Carroll County participating in the Perennial Math program that was
introduced this school year. I encourage you to visit the
“Competitions” link to learn more about this challenging math
competition that all A.C.E. students who are in the grades 4-8 are
participating in during A.C.E. class.
This has been a busy
school year for everyone. In January, the A.C.E. Movie Night and
Program was a big success! At least 24 veterans and 5 currently
serving military attended the program. It was a great way to
show how much we appreciate what they did and continue to do for our
country. In an effort to show how much we appreciate what our
brave soldiers are doing for us, we would like to send a care package
to say “thank you”. A.C.E. will be collecting items this month
to send to Jacob McClain (Huntingdon) and other sailors aboard the
U.S.S. Sampson D102 which was diploid on October 31, 2014.
Items can be sent to
Mrs. Wyatt through students during scheduled A.C.E. classes or dropped
off at her office at the Carroll County Board of Education at 14155
Paris Street in Huntingdon. The packet will most likely be
mailed on April 10, 2015. It usually takes at least two weeks for the
sailors to get their packages after being mailed; therefore, make sure
that any food items can withstand this timeframe and any predicted
temperatures.
